Instructions
Put the butter and cream in a large skillet over medium-high heat and boil, stirring frequently, until the cream has reduced by almost half.
Add the freshly grated nutmeg, some salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
Add the cheese and 1 pound of cooked fettuccine pasta. Toss well and serve immediately.
